Valencia: Do you know the Turia Gardens?

Valencia is a great city which hides spectacular landscapes and beautiful places. In this article we will talk about a place that may not all tourists who have travelled to Valencia know: these are the Turia Gardens.

Turia Gardens -created in 1986- is a beauty in an urban environment. Those lucky enough to visit them are amazed to see a natural park-the largest urban nature of Spain- in the middle of town. A total of some 110 kilometres in length, 9 hectares of green space that include leisure areas, others for sport, others most intimate moments to spend in family or couple, areas where cultural activities are offered …

The city council decided to create them on the surface of the Turia River, which gives its name to the city, because there was a great flood in 1957 and the authorities decided to divert it.

What else is it offered at Turia Gardens? 18 bridges. Like you hear! Several are from the famous architect Santiago Calatrava. Others, such as the Puente del Mar, have changed their functionality over time: originally served as a way to connect the city with the port. It was not until 1933 when it became pedestrian.

Everything around these gardens is amazing. Turia Gardens are bordered with the Parque de Cabecera and Bioparc, valencian zoo, and with the famous City of Arts and Sciences. Precisely Parque de Cabecera, with a lake in the centre, is the newest area of all natural complexes.

The Turia Gardens are known as the green lung of Valencia, a figure that would be much needed today in other cities of our country that are being hit by pollution problems. In fact, the idea was to unite this green area with other city parks in order to make an ecological point throughout the city of Valencia.

This site offers a unique opportunity for all who decides to visit Valencia and spend a weekend in a holiday apartment.
