Valencia in January, start the year enthusiastically
After a period of hard work, stress and careers to reach everything, the desired Christmas holidays and the beginning of a new year have arrived.
Valencia in January seems an ideal place to relax, enjoy and recharge in order to handle this New Year. This city offers a wide range of activities, routes and various plans to fully enjoy Christmas.
Since early December, the city will host a series of events that will run throughout the month of January, being the highlights: «Expojove» (from December 26 to January 4), the craft exhibition in the Mercado de Colón (from December 17 to January 5) Christmas Fair at Plaza de la Reina (from November 27 to January 6), Christmas activities in the City of Arts and Science (from 18 December to 6 January), the fairground Christmas (December 4 to January 24) and the Cabanyal Market Reyes (from 2 to 6 January)
In addition, the twelve strikes of the bells in the Town Hall Square will start the New Year with a show of fireworks, lights and music.
Exhibitions
At this time we find several exhibitions in various museums. In the IVAM (Valencian Institute of Modern Art) we can visit the exhibition of Gillian Wearing, until 24 January. Following the cultural offerings at the Museum of Fine Arts we will find Melancholy times, until 7 February; and if we are still looking forward to museums, you can visit the Casa Monet with Vladimir Ksieski exhibition, until 31 December.
Shows
Valencia offers live entertainment in order to have a great time. We can visit the Olympia Theater with his play Taxi, December 16 to January 17 or the Rialto and La Hospitality from 17 December to 10 January. And for the youngest, we found Magic Christmas at the Thalia Theater, a magic show with performances on 22, 28, December 29 and January 4, and Nadal L’Escalante circuit composed of numerous activities from December 26 to January 6.
Music
Black Note Club spent over this month a series of live concerts of different styles. But if you are more timeless, in the Reina Sofía you will find the opera Samson et Dalila by Camille Saint-Saens, with functions until 23 January.
